With trade areas of more than 160,000 households, its potential impact on jobs and revenue loom large for the once vibrant aerospace dominated community. This transaction prompted a personal visit from Mr. Bakewell’s late friend and former U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Ron Brown, where Brown remarked, ” Hawthorne Plaza is a blueprint for success between public and private sector partnerships.”
